In F9: The Fast Saga (2021), Dom Toretto’s hero car is a custom mid-engine 1968 Dodge Charger built with SpeedKore, backed by a Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody. His brother Jakob (John Cena) drives a Ford Mustang with Shelby GT350 styling, Han returns in an orange Toyota GR Supra, Magdalene Shaw drives a Noble M600, and Roman and Tej ride a jet-powered Pontiac Fiero into space. No Hennessey Venom appears in the film.
Car identifications come from interviews with F9 picture car coordinator Dennis McCarthy (Road & Track, Top Gear) and the official vehicle stills published by Motor1. Specs come from manufacturer press pages. Every source is linked at the end of this page.
F9: The Fast Saga is the ninth main film in the series and picks up after the Furious 7 cars list and the eighth film. Universal released it in US theaters on June 25, 2021, and it earned $726.2 million worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo. Justin Lin returned to direct.

Dom’s Mid-Engine 1968 Dodge Charger
Dom’s main F9 car looks like a widebody 1968 Charger, but the engine sits behind the driver. Motor1 notes a plexiglass panel between the cabin and the engine and a rear window that shows the V8 and exhausts. McCarthy told Top Gear he saw SpeedKore building a widebody, Coke-bottle Charger at SEMA and wanted a mid-engine car with a 1960s Le Mans feel, crediting the Ford GT40 as the inspiration.
How the Charger was built
- Engine: a Dodge Hellcat V8 with a Demon tune, rated at over 800 hp (Top Gear).
- Gearbox: a Lamborghini Gallardo six-speed manual transaxle (Top Gear, Road & Track).
- Body: carbon-fiber panels by SpeedKore, a stretched wheelbase and a wider stance. McCarthy said only the roof is left from the original Charger.
- Count: three were planned, but two fully running cars were finished. Road & Track adds seven stunt cars with a fiberglass mock-up engine.
- Cost: Motorious reported in June 2021 that it was a $1 million custom build.
Most F9 stunt cars used a uniform LS3 V8 package of about 525 bhp, McCarthy told Top Gear. The Hellcat-powered Chargers were the exception, and he called this “my favourite Charger.” Cost figure: Motorious, June 17, 2021.

The Other Key Cars in F9
Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody (Dom)
In the opening off-road sequence Dom drives a modern Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody, per Road & Track. The road car is real: Stellantis rated the 2020 Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody’s supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 at 707 hp and 650 lb-ft (Stellantis media).
The Tantrum and Dom’s classic Charger
Official stills and coverage show two more of Dom’s Chargers: a 1970 Charger called the Tantrum and his long-running Charger with the supercharger sticking out of the hood (Motor1; Motorious). McCarthy estimated his total Charger count across the films at “somewhere in the 16, 18 range.”
Jakob Toretto’s Ford Mustang
John Cena’s Jakob is a Ford man. Motor1’s official materials call his car a 2016 Ford Mustang with clear GT350 touches and a hood scoop, and Road & Track’s interview with McCarthy refers to it as a GT350. Justin Lin picked it as a rival to the Charger. The production Shelby GT350 uses a 5.2-liter flat-plane-crank V8 that was rated at 526 hp and 429 lb-ft (MotorTrend).
Han’s Toyota GR Supra
Han is back, and Motor1’s stills show him and Mia in an orange and black Supra during the Armadillo chase. Orange fifth-generation GR Supras were spotted on the F9 set in Tbilisi (Wheels). Toyota rated the 2020 GR Supra’s 3.0-liter twin-scroll turbo six at 335 hp and 365 lb-ft (Toyota Newsroom). Wheels notes the orange paint recalls the orange Supra from the 2001 original. For Han’s earlier rides, see the Tokyo Drift cars list.
Magdalene Shaw’s Noble M600
Helen Mirren’s Magdalene Shaw drives a Noble M600 in purple and yellow. McCarthy chose it because she is British and there are few British supercars to pick from. Evo lists the M600’s Volvo-sourced 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 at 650 bhp (evo).
The rocket Pontiac Fiero
Roman and Tej reach space in a jet-powered Pontiac Fiero (Top Gear, Motor1). McCarthy told Top Gear the Fiero was director Justin Lin’s choice, not his: “From a comedy element, it’s hard to beat a Pontiac Fiero.” It is a film build, and no specs for it have been published.
Toyota 86, Jaguar Project 8 and the villain trucks
A near-stock Toyota 86 on HRE wheels gets pulled through a building by the magnet rig (Road & Track; trailer coverage at Autobuzz). McCarthy added a Jaguar XE SV Project 8 because he loved it; Jaguar announced it would build no more than 300, with a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 targeted at about 600 PS (Jaguar media). The villains’ Armadillo and Armory Truck were built in the UK by Alex King on Mercedes-Benz Unimog running gear.
Top Gear also points to a fleet of E60 BMW 5 Series police cars and a brief cameo from an E38 BMW 7 Series. Letty rides a Yamaha 450-based motorcycle in the opening sequence.
Is There a Venom Car in F9?
Many searches ask about an “F9 Venom car.” None of the sources used for this page, including the official vehicle stills and two interviews with picture car coordinator Dennis McCarthy, lists a Hennessey Venom in the film. In fact, McCarthy told Top Gear in June 2021 that he still wanted to get a Hennessey car into a Fast movie and suggested Fast 10 might be the one.
Venom is the name Hennessey uses for its hypercars, such as the Venom F5 (Carscoops). If you remember a low, wide hypercar in F9, the closest real match in the film is Magdalene Shaw’s Noble M600. The F9 car most often confused for a hypercar is Dom’s mid-engine Charger.

F9 Cars You Can Buy Today
Most F9 hero cars are custom builds, but several share their roots with real production models. Prices change fast, so this table lists status only.
| Car in the film | Real-world model | Status (October 2026) | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dom’s Hellcat Charger | Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody | HEMI Charger production ended by December 31, 2023; used only | Stellantis |
| Han’s Supra | Toyota GR Supra (A90) | 2026 Final Edition revealed; new stock or used | Jalopnik |
| Jakob’s Mustang | Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 | Discontinued after the 2020 model year; used market only | Motor1 |
| Magdalene’s Noble | Noble M600 | Low-volume British supercar; rare on the US market | evo |
| Jaguar Project 8 | Jaguar XE SV Project 8 | Limited to 300 cars; collector market | Jaguar |
Dom’s mid-engine Charger and the rocket Fiero are one-off film builds and were never sold as production cars. For older Chargers and the cars that started it all, see the Fast and Furious 1 cars list.
F9 vs Furious 7: How the Cars Changed
Furious 7 put its biggest car stunt in Abu Dhabi, with the Lykan HyperSport jumping between the Etihad Towers (Visit Abu Dhabi). That film leaned on exotic hypercars. F9 moved the spotlight back to custom builds: a mid-engine Charger made almost entirely from new parts, a rocket Fiero and Unimog-based villain trucks.
F9 also added a family rivalry on wheels. McCarthy told Road & Track that Lin saw the Mustang as the right rival for Dom’s Charger, with a flashback that ties the two cars together. And Han’s return put a Supra back in a lead role, a car with deep roots in the series. For the full side-by-side, read the Furious 7 cars list and the Fast and Furious 6 cars list.
