NextCarReview is an independent automotive research publication for US car buyers. It was founded in August 2024 by Morgan Reyes and is run from New York. We publish new-car reviews, head-to-head comparisons, buying guides, EV and hybrid coverage, recall and safety reporting, OBD-II trouble code guides, and free car-buying tools.
Who Runs NextCarReview
Morgan Reyes, Founder & Editor-in-Chief. Morgan is a 2022 graduate of Columbia University and is based in New York. Morgan launched NextCarReview in August 2024 and writes and edits the site’s reviews, comparisons and guides. Every article published under Morgan’s name has been researched, checked against its sources and approved by Morgan before going live.
How We Research Every Article
We want to be clear about what we do and do not do. NextCarReview does not road-test cars. We do not run a test fleet, a test track or in-house instrumentation, and we never describe a drive we did not take. Instead, every review is built from published primary data, and every figure is cited where it is used:
- Fuel economy: EPA ratings from FuelEconomy.gov.
- Crash safety: NHTSA 5-Star Safety Ratings and IIHS evaluations.
- Recalls and owner complaints: NHTSA’s recall and consumer complaint databases. Complaints are labeled as unverified owner reports, never as confirmed defects.
- Prices, trims and specifications: official manufacturer press releases and specification sheets.
Where we add analysis (which trim is the best value, how long a hybrid takes to pay back its price premium, which rival beats a car on a given measure), it is our own calculation from those published numbers, and we say so. Read the full process in our Editorial Standards and Sourcing Policy.

Independence and How We Make Money
NextCarReview is funded by display advertising through Google AdSense. Advertisers have no say in what we publish or how a vehicle is assessed. We do not accept payment, free vehicles, gifts or hospitality from automakers or dealers in exchange for coverage. If an article ever contains an affiliate link, it is clearly disclosed and has no effect on our conclusions.
Corrections and Contact
