Honda has not announced the 2027 Honda Pilot. As of October 6, 2026, the newest Pilot releases on Honda’s US newsroom cover the refreshed 2026 model, so there is no official 2027 price, release date or change list. The best official baseline is the current 2026 Pilot: a 285 hp 3.5-liter V6 with a 10-speed automatic, six trims from $42,395 (Sport 2WD) to $55,195 (Black Edition AWD) before a $1,495 destination charge, and EPA ratings of 20 to 22 mpg combined. Towing is 3,500 lbs for 2WD and 5,000 lbs for AWD.

Release date: Honda has not announced a 2027 Pilot release date as of October 6, 2026. Redesign: Honda has not said; the current fourth generation launched for 2023 and was refreshed for 2026.
When Is the 2027 Honda Pilot Release Date?
Honda has not announced a release date for the 2027 Pilot as of October 6, 2026. Honda’s US newsroom lists a November 18, 2025 release announcing the refreshed 2026 Pilot, a December 15, 2025 release saying it was arriving at dealers, and a May 1, 2026 pricing and EPA update. There is no 2027 Pilot release, price or change list. Honda has published 2027 details for the Passport, including prices on September 29, 2026, but that says nothing official about the Pilot. Until Honda posts a 2027 release, the 2026 Pilot is the only version with published prices and EPA ratings.
Honda’s own Pilot release history shows no fixed changeover month. Its arrival releases are dated June 17, 2020 (2021 model), July 26, 2021 (2022), November 22, 2022 for the all-new 2023 (on sale December 12, 2022), March 1, 2024 (2025) and December 15, 2025 (the 2026 refresh), roughly 13 to 22 months apart. As of October 29, 2026, Honda’s US newsroom has 2027 releases for the Passport, Civic and Civic Type R, but still none for the Pilot.
Is the 2027 Honda Pilot a Redesign?
Honda has not said whether the 2027 Pilot changes. The current fourth-generation Pilot launched for the 2023 model year with a 3.5-liter V6 and a 10-speed automatic. Honda refreshed it for 2026, adding a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a standard power tailgate, Post-Collision Braking and new styling. Because that refresh is recent and Honda has published nothing for 2027, no official source points to a new generation. The 2027 Passport, which shares the V6, received TrailSport changes but not a new generation. Treat any 2027 Pilot redesign claim as unconfirmed until Honda announces it.
Honda’s January 14, 2023 Pilot timeline gives the generation history: 2003-2008 (built in Alliston, Ontario), 2009-2015 (production moved to the Honda Alabama Auto Plant), 2016-2022 (280 hp V6, Honda Sensing introduced) and 2023 onward (285 hp, 262 lb-ft, 10-speed automatic). Honda says more than 2.3 million Pilots had been sold since 2003. Each generation so far ran six or seven model years and was refreshed in its fourth model year (2006, 2012, 2019 and now 2026), a pattern that does not point to a 2027 redesign, though Honda has not said either way.
Separately, Automotive News reported, as carried by Carscoops on September 24, 2026, that Honda is considering a larger three-row model above the Pilot, dubbed “Pilot XXL,” about 8 inches longer than the current Pilot and possibly in production as early as the first quarter of 2032. Honda has not announced it, and it would not be a 2027 model.
Has Honda announced the 2027 Honda Pilot?
No. Honda’s newsroom lists a November 18, 2025 release announcing the refreshed 2026 Pilot, a December 15, 2025 release saying it was arriving at dealers, and a May 1, 2026 pricing and EPA update. We found no 2027 Pilot release. Honda has, by contrast, published 2027 Passport details, including prices, on September 29, 2026. Pages that already list a 2027 Pilot price, release date or hybrid are not citing a Honda announcement, and this page does not repeat them.
What can be said with confidence is what the Pilot is today. Honda’s 2026 refresh was substantial, so the more likely question is how long the current version runs, which only Honda can answer. The sections below give the current numbers you can use to compare with competitors now, each labeled as a 2026 figure. When Honda posts a 2027 release, the table in the 2027 vs 2026 section is the one to update first: price, EPA ratings, trims and any new equipment.

What did the refreshed 2026 Pilot change?
- Current 2026 figure: new 12.3-inch HD touchscreen, which Honda says is 37 percent larger, and a 10.2-inch digital driver display, 43 percent larger.
- Current 2026 figure: wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Google built-in and 5G Wi-Fi capability.
- Current 2026 figure: cabin noise reduced by 2 to 3 dB in key frequencies and improved steering feel.
- Current 2026 figure: power tailgate now standard, a new Post-Collision Braking system, and a 360-degree surround view camera added to the Touring.
- Current 2026 figure: new styling and color options, with Honda Sensing standard.
Honda says the Pilot is built exclusively in America at the Honda Alabama Auto Plant in Lincoln, Alabama.
The refresh also added three colors, Solar Silver Metallic, Smoke Blue Pearl and TrailSport-exclusive Ash Green Metallic, and made roof rails standard on all trims by adding them to the EX-L.
How much does the Pilot cost today?
Honda’s May 1, 2026 pricing release lists the following MSRPs, which exclude the $1,495 destination charge. Its December 2025 release had listed the Sport 2WD at $42,195, so the starting price rose $200 in between. Whether the 2027 model changes again is unannounced.
| Trim (2026, current) | MSRP | EPA city / highway / combined |
|---|---|---|
| Sport 2WD | $42,395 | 19 / 27 / 22 |
| Sport AWD | $44,495 | 19 / 25 / 21 |
| EX-L 2WD | $44,695 | 19 / 27 / 22 |
| EX-L AWD | $46,795 | 19 / 25 / 21 |
| TrailSport AWD | $50,595 | 18 / 23 / 20 |
| Touring AWD | $51,295 | 19 / 25 / 21 |
| Elite AWD | $53,695 | 19 / 25 / 21 |
| Black Edition AWD | $55,195 | 19 / 25 / 21 |
The EPA lists the same split on FuelEconomy.gov: 22 mpg combined for the 2WD, 21 for AWD and 20 for the TrailSport.
For a longer view, Honda priced the all-new 2023 Pilot Sport from $39,150 plus a $1,295 destination charge when sales began on December 12, 2022, so the 2026 Sport 2WD’s $42,395 is $3,245 higher before destination.

2026 Honda Pilot specs: engine, towing, cargo and seating
| Spec | Current 2026 figure (2027 not announced) |
|---|---|
| Engine | 3.5-liter DOHC V6 |
| Output | 285 hp at 6,100 rpm; 262 lb-ft at 5,000 rpm |
| Transmission | 10-speed automatic; i-VTM4 all-wheel drive available or standard by trim |
| Towing | 3,500 lbs (2WD); 5,000 lbs (AWD) |
| Cargo behind third row | 18.6 to 22.4 cu ft |
| Cargo behind second row | 48.5 to 60.1 cu ft |
| Cargo behind first row | 86.5 to 113.7 cu ft |
| Seating | 8 on most trims; 7 on TrailSport |
| Ground clearance (unladen) | 7.3 in (most trims); 8.3 in (TrailSport) |
| Length / wheelbase | About 200 in / 113.8 in |
The Pilot has no hybrid in Honda’s 2026 lineup. The Passport shares the same V6 and 10-speed, which makes the 2027 Passport changes a hint at Honda’s direction, but not a statement about the Pilot.
2027 vs 2026: what is confirmed and what is not?
| Item | 2026 Pilot (current) | 2027 Pilot |
|---|---|---|
| Announcement | Announced Nov 18, 2025; at dealers Dec 15, 2025 | Not announced |
| Starting price | $42,395 plus $1,495 destination | Not announced |
| Engine | 285 hp V6, 10-speed automatic | Not announced; no hybrid announced |
| EPA mpg | 19/27/22 best; TrailSport 18/23/20 | Not published |
| Trims | Sport, EX-L, Touring, TrailSport, Elite, Black Edition | Not announced |
| Model changes | Refresh for 2026 | Not announced |
For perspective on how Honda handles a model year, the 2027 Passport raised its starting price $245 on the RTL and $1,345 on the TrailSport, and added destination of $100, according to Honda’s releases. That is the Passport, not the Pilot. It is a reminder that Honda priced a 2027 SUV above its 2026 equivalent, but it does not forecast the Pilot.

Pilot or Highlander: how do the official numbers compare?
The Highlander is the usual cross-shop, and the official Toyota figures for the 2026 Highlander allow a numbers-only comparison. The Pilot leads on horsepower, while the Highlander leads on fuel economy, especially in hybrid form. Both are 2026 figures.
| Spec (2026) | Honda Pilot AWD | Toyota Highlander AWD |
|---|---|---|
| Engine | 3.5-liter V6 | 2.4-liter turbo four-cylinder |
| Output | 285 hp, 262 lb-ft | 265 hp, 310 lb-ft |
| EPA combined | 21 mpg | 24 mpg (gas); 35 mpg (hybrid) |
| Hybrid offered | No | Yes |
| Standard AWD | No, 2WD is offered | Yes, standard on gas models for 2026 |
Put plainly, the Pilot leads on peak horsepower by 20 hp and the Highlander gas model leads on combined mpg by 3. The Highlander Hybrid leads by 14 mpg combined. Torque favors the Highlander, 310 lb-ft to 262. For the next Highlander, see the series page, since the next generation is electric.
Should you buy a 2026 Pilot or wait for the 2027?
With no 2027 information from Honda, the 2026 Pilot is the only version with published prices, EPA ratings and a spec sheet, and its 2026 refresh already added the larger touchscreen, power tailgate and Post-Collision Braking. If a good 2026 deal is available, there is no official reason to expect missing features. If you can wait, Honda’s typical practice is to publish pricing in its newsroom, so check hondanews.com before signing. Waiting carries the risk that a 2027 price is higher, as Honda’s Passport prices were.
