Confirmed for 2027: Ford has announced two new Bronco models, the RTR and the Filson. Ford says the Filson reaches showrooms in early 2027, and press coverage reported RTR sales starting in January 2027. The Bronco RTR uses a 2.3-liter EcoBoost with 33-inch tires and a starting MSRP of “just over $50,000.” The Bronco Filson uses a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 with the Sasquatch package and a targeted starting MSRP in the “mid $70,000s.” Not announced: 2027 prices and EPA ratings for the Base, Big Bend, Outer Banks, Badlands, Heritage and Raptor models. October 2026 press reports say a 380 hp version of the 3.0-liter V6 is now offered on the Outer Banks, Badlands and Heritage and the 2.7-liter V6 is dropped. Other figures below are current 2026 numbers: 300 hp (2.3L), 330 hp (2.7L, where fitted) and 418 hp (3.0L Raptor).

Ford has not published a full 2027 Bronco lineup, but it has confirmed two significant additions: the Bronco RTR and the Bronco Filson. If you searched for the 2027 Ford Bronco, this page separates what Ford has announced from what is still carried over from 2026. More 2027 coverage lives on our 2027 new cars hub.
Release date: Ford has not published an on-sale date for the full 2027 Bronco lineup; the Filson takes orders in fall 2026 with showrooms in early 2027, and press reported RTR sales from January 2027.
What has Ford confirmed for the 2027 Bronco?
Two new models, both from Ford’s own newsroom articles. First, the Bronco RTR, a high-speed desert-oriented model developed with RTR Vehicles. Second, the Bronco Filson, a premium model developed with outdoor-gear maker Filson. Ford has not published a 2027 price sheet or 2027 EPA ratings for the rest of the Bronco range; the wider 2027 changes, including the expanded 3.0-liter V6, were reported by the press in October 2026 and are covered in the engine section below. FuelEconomy.gov has no 2027 Bronco entries as of October 7, 2026, and its 2027 list for Ford currently shows only the Expedition and Explorer.

What is the 2027 Ford Bronco RTR?
Ford pitches the RTR at buyers who want high-speed off-road ability without a Raptor budget. The confirmed content:
- Engine: 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder with an RTR-specific calibration that includes an anti-lag function, plus upgraded engine cooling. Ford’s articles do not state RTR horsepower or torque.
- Transmission: 10-speed automatic, per Ford’s RTR article.
- Suspension and tires: HOSS 1.0 wide-track suspension with a lift and standard 33-inch tires, a combination Ford says it has never offered on a Bronco before. A Sasquatch package with RTR suspension adds HOSS 3.0 Fox internal bypass dampers and 35-inch tires.
- Cabin: Hyper Lime accents on the dashboard inserts, grab handles, seatbelt webbing and stitching, matching the exterior theme, as reported by Carscoops when Ford revealed the cabin on April 1, 2026.
- Wheels and hardware: beadlock-capable 17-inch wheels, rock rails, squared fenders and signature LED lighting are standard.
- Price: a starting MSRP “just over $50,000,” and “just under $60,000” fully equipped, both before destination and delivery.

What is the 2027 Ford Bronco Filson?
The Filson is the premium end of the new additions. Ford says every Filson uses a twin-turbo 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 that it shares with the Bronco Raptor, with tuning specific to the Filson. The Sasquatch package is included, which brings 35-inch tires, front and rear electronic locking differentials, Trail Turn Assist, Trail 1-Pedal Drive, a seven-mode terrain system and Fox shocks with internal bypass technology. Ford also lists a 12-inch SYNC 4 screen, a 360-degree camera system, ventilated front seats, a B&O audio system, power running boards and Filson-inspired removable saddlebags. The First Edition adds Iron Sands Copper Metallic paint and a serialized console badge.
Ford’s price statement is a target, not a final figure: a “targeted starting manufacturer’s suggested retail price in the mid $70,000s.” Orders open in fall 2026 and showroom arrival is early 2027. Ford’s articles do not give Filson horsepower, torque or towing, so none is quoted here. Sources: Ford: Filson specs and features and Ford: Filson explained.

How do the RTR, Filson and current Bronco engines compare?
| Model | Engine | Output | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bronco RTR | 2.3L EcoBoost I-4, RTR calibration | Not published by Ford | Confirmed for 2027 |
| Bronco Filson | 3.0L twin-turbo EcoBoost V6, Filson tuning | Not published by Ford | Confirmed for 2027 |
| Base and Big Bend | 2.3L EcoBoost I-4 | 300 hp | Current 2026 model figure; 2027 not announced |
| Outer Banks, Badlands, Heritage (2027) | 3.0L twin-turbo EcoBoost V6, optional | 380 hp, 440 lb-ft | Reported for 2027 by MotorWeek and Carscoops, October 2026 |
| Outer Banks, Badlands, Stroppe | 2.7L EcoBoost V6 | 330 hp | Current 2026 model figure; 2.7L reported dropped for 2027 |
| Heritage Edition | 2.3L (300 hp) or available 2.7L V6 (330 hp); check Ford’s page for your configuration | 300 or 330 hp | Current 2026 model figure; 2027 3.0L option reported |
| Raptor | 3.0L EcoBoost V6 | 418 hp | Current 2026 model figure; 2027 not announced |
The hp figures come from Ford’s Bronco page for the 2026 lineup. One dealership blog reported that Ford advised dealers to shift Outer Banks orders away from the 2.7-liter V6 and toward the 2.3-liter to get them scheduled faster, and speculated the 2.7 may end. The blog is a dealer’s account, not an official source. October 2026 press coverage now points the same way: MotorWeek reported on October 14, 2026 that the Raptor’s twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 becomes available on the 2027 Outer Banks, Badlands and Heritage, rated at 380 hp and 440 lb-ft against the Raptor’s 418 hp, and that it is standard on the new Filson. Carscoops reported on October 15, 2026 that Ford has dropped the 2.7-liter V6 and that the Base and Big Bend appear to keep the 2.3-liter four-cylinder. Neither outlet had 2027 pricing, and EPA has not rated the 380 hp version.
What gas mileage does the Bronco get?
EPA has no 2027 Bronco ratings yet. The 2026 ratings below are the current official reference and will not necessarily match 2027.
On those numbers the 2.3-liter automatic and the Outer Banks V6 tie on combined mpg at 20, while the Raptor is lowest at 15. The RTR shares the 2.3-liter engine family with a different calibration and bigger tires, so its rating cannot be inferred and should be checked once EPA publishes it.

How much can a Bronco tow and how much clearance does it have?
Ford’s Bronco page states that most models can tow up to 3,500 pounds and the Raptor up to 4,500 pounds, with maximum available ground clearance of up to 11.6 inches on non-Raptor trims and up to 13.1 inches on the Raptor. Those are current 2026 figures. Ford has not published RTR or Filson towing or clearance in the articles reviewed. 2027 Ford Bronco Colors
Ford has not published a full 2027 Bronco color chart with prices. MotorWeek and Carscoops reported in October 2026 that Neptune Blue is a new 2027 color that replaces Velocity Blue. For the Filson, Ford lists six colors: Filson-exclusive Field Green Metallic plus Marsh Gray, Avalanche Gray, Desert Sand, Shadow Black and Oxford White, and the limited First Edition adds exclusive Iron Sands Copper Metallic (reprinted by The Shop Magazine).
Buyers who want a louder color theme can add Ford Custom Garage’s Desert Rising package, the first entry in its Horizon Series. AutoGuide reported that orders opened July 27, 2026 at $13,695 on top of the Bronco Outer Banks price, for a 1,000-unit run, and Automotive Addicts reported it is offered on Outer Banks models in Oxford White, Shadow Black, Avalanche Gray or Ruby Red.
When Is the 2027 Ford Bronco Release Date?
Ford’s timing is specific only for the new models: the Filson takes orders in fall 2026 with showroom arrival in early 2027, and press coverage reported RTR sales starting in January 2027. A Filson tour began in July 2026. CBT News reported on January 14, 2026 that Ford said the RTR would be available to order in October, with sales beginning in January 2027. Ford has not published an on-sale date for the rest of the 2027 lineup. The most recent model-year change Ford documented is for the 2026 Bronco, which brought the Wildtrak package back as an option on four-door Badlands models with the 330 hp 2.7-liter engine, painted-roof combinations on Outer Banks and Raptor, and an optional keypad, effective for trucks built from March 23, 2026.

Should you buy a 2026 Bronco or wait for the 2027?
- You want 33-inch tires and a lower entry price than a Raptor: the RTR is a 2027 model with an announced price just over $50,000. It was reported to go on sale in early 2027, so a 2026 cannot substitute.
- You want the Raptor engine in a more upscale cabin: the Filson is the only announced route, at a targeted mid-$70,000s price in early 2027.
- You want a Base, Big Bend, Outer Banks or Badlands: October 2026 press reports say the Outer Banks and Badlands gain an optional 380 hp 3.0-liter V6 for 2027 and that the 2.7-liter V6 is dropped. If you want the 2.7-liter specifically, it is reported to end with the 2026 model, so check 2026 availability with a dealer. 2027 prices are not yet published.
- You want to tow more than 3,500 pounds: only the Raptor is rated higher, at 4,500 pounds.
