With the optional 3.5L PowerBoost hybrid, the 2024 Ford F-150 Platinum makes a combined 430 hp and 570 lb-ft of torque. A 47-hp electric motor and a battery under the cab help the twin-turbo V6, so it’s not just a standard 3.5L EcoBoost engine. It’s not a Super Duty, but it can tow more than 10,000 pounds when properly equipped. The EPA rates the 2024 PowerBoost 4WD at 22 city, 24 highway and 23 mpg combined, versus 19 combined for the 3.5L EcoBoost 4WD.

NHTSA recalls for the 2024 F-150
NHTSA lists 11 recall campaigns that include the 2024 F-150. Not every campaign applies to every truck, so check the VIN. The main ones are:
- Steering: an incorrect fastener on the steering column lower shaft (24V329) and an incorrect steering rack that can fracture (25V022).
- Engine: a misaligned engine cup plug on 3.5L engines that can cause a rapid oil leak (24V851 and 25V198).
- Transmission: a valve body that can cause reverse gear failure (25V164).
- Windshield bonding (24V486), integrated trailer brake control (26V104) and fuel tank mounting (26V578, filed in September 2026).
- Rear axle hub bolts on trucks with the Trailer Tow Max Duty package (25V512), plus rearview camera software (25V315) and a missing airbag label (24V852).
Run the VIN at NHTSA and ask for proof that recall work was completed.
What changed after 2024
The 2024 refresh is still the current F-150 design. Ford continues to offer the 3.5L PowerBoost hybrid for 2026, and the EPA rates the 2026 hybrid 4WD at 22/24/23 mpg, the same as the 2024. So a used 2024 Platinum gives you the current styling and screens at a lower price than a new truck.
