The 2024 Hyundai Elantra N is the high-performance version of Hyundai’s compact sedan, refreshed for 2024 with new styling and chassis updates. The 2024 Elantra N HP figure is 276 hp. How We Evaluated the 2024 Hyundai Elantra N

Since the 2024 model year has ended, most 2024 Elantra N sedans you can buy now are used. The specs and safety data below still apply. Before you buy any specific car, check its history and open recalls by VIN.
2024 Elantra N Trims and Prices
There is one Elantra N trim. The only choice is the transmission. Hyundai’s price sheet (effective February 5, 2024) lists these suggested retail prices:

The DCT model also gets a power sunroof. Otherwise the two cars have the same equipment. Hyundai lists six exterior colors: Abyss Black, Ultimate Red (new for 2024), Intense Blue, Cyber Gray, Performance Blue and Atlas White. Performance Blue and Atlas White carry an extra charge. Every car has a black interior with blue stitching and a leather and Alcantara combination.
If you are weighing the Elantra N against the cheaper Elantra N Line, Hyundai’s September 2023 price sheet lists the 2024 N Line at $28,315. It uses a 1.6-liter turbo rated at 201 hp and 195 lb-ft and a 7-speed dual-clutch, so it is a sporty-looking commuter, not a track-ready car like the N.
2024 Elantra N Horsepower, Specs and EPA Fuel Economy
Hyundai’s spec sheet describes the engine as a 1,998-cc turbocharged, direct-injected four-cylinder. It makes 276 hp from 5,500 to 6,000 rpm and 289 lb-ft from 2,100 to 4,700 rpm. Both transmissions send that power to the front wheels through the N Corner Carving Differential, Hyundai’s electronically controlled limited-slip differential. Electronically Controlled Suspension, a variable exhaust valve system and the N Grin Control System drive modes (Eco, Normal, Sport, N and Custom) are standard. So are 19 x 8-inch forged alloy wheels with 245/35R19 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S summer tires, plus ventilated brakes with 14.2-inch front and 12.4-inch rear rotors.

fueleconomy.gov lists a 12.4-gallon tank and a 285-mile EPA range for the DCT version. Hyundai does not publish an official 0-60 mph time for the 2024 car, so we have not listed one.
What changed for 2024
According to Hyundai, the refreshed car went on sale at dealers starting in January 2024. On the outside, it got a new front bumper and grille, new dual-projector LED headlights, a new rear bumper and diffuser, and new 19-inch forged wheels that cut 33 lb of unsprung weight compared with the previous design. The chassis changes include a reinforced engine-mount membrane, stiffer G-bushings, a urethane rear suspension insulator in place of rubber, and updated software for the adaptive suspension and the steering. Hyundai also tightened steering gearbox tolerances and fitted a low-friction steering universal joint. For cooling, it added a duct-style air guard for the radiator and a front-bumper guide that sends air over the brakes. The ESC software was updated, and the front brake lines got thermal protection.
Interior, Practicality and Technology
The Elantra N’s cabin is better equipped than its price suggests. Standard features on Hyundai’s price sheet include N Light Sport bucket seats with an illuminated N logo (leather-trimmed with microsuede inserts), heated front seats, dual automatic climate control, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 10.25-inch navigation screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You also get eight-speaker Bose audio, Blue Link connected services, Hyundai Digital Key 2.0, a wireless charging pad, proximity key with push-button start, and a hands-free smart trunk release. There are USB-C ports for the rear seat.
A few practical limits are worth knowing. The rear seatback folds as a single piece, not in a split, and a red rear chassis brace is standard. Hyundai’s 2024 Elantra spec sheet lists 14.2 cubic feet of trunk space for the Elantra sedan. We could not find a separate trunk figure for the N in Hyundai’s documents. The summer tires are a poor choice for snow, so buyers in cold climates should budget for a winter set.
Standard driver-assistance features include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection, Blind-Spot Collision Warning, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, front and rear Parking Distance Warning, Lane Following Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, High Beam Assist and Driver Attention Warning.
Safety Ratings and Recalls
NHTSA: NHTSA lists the 2024 Hyundai Elantra N 4-door FWD separately from the regular Elantra. It has not been rated in NHTSA’s frontal or side crash tests, so it has no overall star rating. It does have a 5-star rollover rating, with a calculated rollover risk of 10.1%. NHTSA shows electronic stability control, forward collision warning and lane departure warning as standard. As of October 2026, NHTSA’s recall database listed no recall campaigns for the 2024 Elantra N. Recalls can be added at any time, so always check the specific car at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
IIHS: The IIHS named the 2024 Hyundai Elantra 4-door sedan a Top Safety Pick. It earned Good ratings in the driver-side and passenger-side small overlap front tests, the updated side test, headlights (all trims) and pedestrian front crash prevention. The updated moderate overlap front test was Marginal for 2024-25 models built before November 2024. Seat belt reminders and LATCH were rated Acceptable. The IIHS page does not list the Elantra N separately, so treat these results as covering the Elantra sedan body, not as a confirmed rating for the N. Who Should Buy the 2024 Elantra N, and Which Version
- Driving enthusiasts on a budget: the manual is the cheaper version and the more efficient one on paper (24 mpg combined vs 23), and it has rev matching.
- Commuters who also do track days: the DCT adds paddle shifters and the sunroof, and you never have to work a clutch in traffic.
- Used buyers: look for a 2024 car (the refreshed design with the new bumpers and forged wheels). Confirm its recall status by VIN and check how worn the summer tires and brakes are.
- Skip it if you need a split-folding rear seat, all-wheel drive or regular-fuel running costs. A regular Elantra or the N Line will suit you better.

Buying a Used 2024 Elantra N? What to Check
Recalls: NHTSA’s recallsByVehicle lookup for the 2024 Hyundai Elantra N returned no campaigns in October 2026. Under the regular 2024 Elantra, NHTSA lists one campaign: 24V308000, which covers an electrical short in the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve assembly that can cause a loss of drive power. Its scope names certain 2024 Elantra, Venue and Kona vehicles, so run the VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls rather than assuming a car is clear.
Later model years: Hyundai’s April 15, 2026 price sheet for the 2026 Elantra N lists $35,100 for the manual and $36,600 for the DCT, plus $1,245 freight, with the same 276 hp and 289 lb-ft engine. A limited N TCR Edition is priced at $39,250 (manual) and $40,750 (DCT). NHTSA lists one campaign for the 2025 Elantra N, 26V254000, for side-impact B-pillar sensors that may have been misassembled. It does not name the 2024 Elantra N, but it is a reason to check any used N by VIN.
Still sold: as of Hyundai’s April 15, 2026 price sheet, yes, the Elantra N is still listed (check with a dealer for current availability), so a 2024 car is no longer the only way to get this engine and chassis. Compare a used 2024 with a new 2026 before you buy, and inspect the summer tires, brakes and any track-day history.
