Significant Changes in the Design of the Kia K5 2025
2025 KIA Facelift
This is the Kia K5 2025, a refreshed version of the fifth generation. The first significant change is at the front, especially in the daytime running lights.
Daytime Running Lights and Side Lights: They have an electric lightning effect, known as Starmap in Kia’s language. This gives it a modern and sporty touch.
Main Headlights: They are slim and well integrated into the design.
Grille: It is thinner and aligned with the new style of the vehicle.
Kia Emblem: Located in the centre, it splits the hood design and creates a sense of movement.
Style and Design
This vehicle has a Shark Nose design, giving it a dynamic appearance.
Lower Texture: Similar to the upper part, allowing good ventilation to cool the engine.
Vertical Directional Lights: Located at the bottom of the bumper, which has been completely redesigned.
GT Version
In the GT version, dorsal fins are at the bottom of the bumper, adding a special touch to the design.
What do you think? I like how it looks. It’s a fair evolution of the front of Kia vehicles.
Side Design and Details
Lightning Effect and Wheels
With new well-integrated front headlights, the 2025 Kia K5’s side design follows the lightning above effect. The wheels are 19 inches with Pirelli P0 245/40 tyres, indicating a sporty version. The brake callipers are painted in a striking green and feature ventilated discs.
Side Details
Exterior Mirrors: In matte black, like the B-pillar.
Inclined Roof: Gives a coupe-like effect.
Defined Lines: The lines run from the front fenders to the top of the rear wheel, creating a front-wheel drive effect.
Liftback: The rear is designed to resemble a liftback, with a hatch that opens in one piece along the windshield.
Rear Section
Chrome Line: It increases in size toward the rear, creating a parabola.
Light Effect: The horizontal lines connect with the vertical ones at the corners, maintaining aesthetic evolution.
Dual Exhaust: Dual exhaust pipes are integrated into a rectangle, along with a sporty diffuser and vertical bars.
Cargo Space and Comfort
Cargo and Seating
The 2025 Kia K5 offers excellent cargo capacity in the rear. The second-row seats can be folded using levers.
Materials and Quality
Seats: Plastics with cushioning for the armrests, with a wood-like effect on the veneer.
Green Stitching: Like the exterior callipers, providing a good colour contrast.
Comfort: Confirmed as a priority, with quality materials and plenty of space for rear occupants.
Interior Space and Comfort
Space and Ventilation
Knee Space: A significant amount of space between the knees and the front seat.
Ventilation: Air conditioning vents and USB-C ports.
Front-Wheel Drive: The tunnel is not very high, improving space.
Headroom: Enough space between the head and the ceiling, even when sitting correctly.
Front Console
A quick look at the classic style of the Kia console shows a clean and efficient design.
Design Integration
The interior of the 2025 Kia K5 maintains the same integration we have seen in other Kia products. The curves and lines are well-designed, and the materials are high quality. The plastics have a bit of cushioning, improving toward the lower part of the doors.
Interior Details
Dorsal Wing on Door Panels: This feature helps close the doors. While it’s not my favourite, it’s something different.
Bose Audio System: The integration of the Bose audio system is excellent, with the same wood veneer we saw in the rear.
Screens and Technology
The Kia K5 2025 features two digital screens:
Infotainment: A 12.3-inch screen.
Instruments: A 12-inch screen. The integration is excellent and slim.
Steering Wheel and Controls
Sporty Style: The steering wheel is compact, with a flat bottom and GT initials.
Controls and Knobs: Located on the horizontal spokes, the buttons feel good. There are paddles behind the wheel to control the automatic transmission.
Transmission and Climate Control
Transmission: The GT model features an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Air Conditioning: The horizontal vents are integrated with the centre, giving a sense of spaciousness.
Connectivity and Controls
USB Ports: There are several USB ports available.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto: You can connect them via cables or Bluetooth, which is now standard in all versions.
Gear Shift Lever: Evolved compared to other models, though not very premium. It features an electric parking brake and several driving modes.
Useful Spaces
Storage: There are several valuable spaces for carrying items.
Materials and Comfort
Seats and Details
The front seats maintain the same style and materials as the rear, with good cushioning. In this GT version, the side supports are thick but comfortable. I like the perforated details and the yellow accents in the stitching.
Other Details
Center Mirror: Has a frame, giving it a classic touch.
Panoramic Roof: Adds a sense of spaciousness and luxury.
Engine and Power
Let’s show the engines! Unlike other manufacturers that reduce the displacement of their engines, the GT comes with a 2.5 naturally aspirated engine with 311 lb-ft of torque and 422 Nm.
Engine Variants
GT Version: 2.5L naturally aspirated engine with 26 kW and 311 lb-ft of torque.
Other Versions (LX and Economy): 4-cylinder 2.5L Turbo engine with 191 horsepower, 142 kW, and 181 lb-ft of torque.
Compared to previous generations, which offered a 1.6L Turbo with 180 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque, this new 2.5L Turbo engine has slightly increased power and reduced torque.
Accessibility and Design Under the Hood
The air filter can be easily removed without tools. The design under the hood has not changed much from previous models.
