Let’s take a look at the engine, which is the 4.4 twin turbo V8 engine. So we’re going to hop in here once again.
It puts out 575 horsepower in Alpine White on Black merino leather. The front end has LED headlamps and a daytime running light, and then you have your 20-inch M5 wheels.
This 2016 BMW M5 has a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, which feels very nice. You have a navigation system over here. You also have enhanced Bluetooth. So you have Bluetooth audio, and then here you have your AM, FM, and XM radio.
Then, there are all of your BMW assist options. The backup camera tags your door locks down. Here, you have your controls for your automatic dual-zone, dual-zone climate, and three-stage, three-stage heated and cooled sets.
It’s cup holders, and here’s your shifter. For that, you push up for reverse and down for neutral. Then you can go to drive and then shift up and down from here or use the paddle shifters here.
With these buttons, you can adjust the car’s revs. You have efficient sport and sport plus. You have your suspension comfort Sport and Sport Plus, and then you have your steering feel. You have Comfort Sport and Sport Plus as well, and you also have your camera.
The BMW M5 Sport 2016 interior is a haven of high-end materials. Leather seats of the highest quality greet you as soon as you open the door. Thanks to the excellent stitching, these seats are comfortable and look good.
Take a look at the table below for an overview of the materials used:
Feature | Material |
Seats | High-quality leather |
Dashboard | Soft-touch plastics |
Trim | Real wood or aluminium |
Soft-touch plastics that feel high-end are used on the controls. Natural wood or aluminium trim makes something look classy. This car is made of high-end materials that make it look and feel expensive.
Pull that up on the fly and turn off your sn toggle and sensors. And then you see the knob for your screen.
You can scroll and tap up and down, and then you have to save your media. You can also pull all that up just by pushing the button. You have your electronic parking brake here, and then you have your centre console cubby here.
There’s the sunroof, a view of the rear seat from up here, and your owner’s manual in the glove compartment.
And the cruise controls your Bluetooth as well as your volume controls.
It’s a gauge cluster for the heads-up display. You have your push-button start and auto-stop toggle; finally, here’s your key fob.
It’s a good ride. It is very bouncy but not uncomfortably so, just coming down this stretch of the road here. But you can tell this car has much power just by that aggressive sound. Secondly, whenever you give it a throttle, it doesn’t shift, but if you give it a throttle, it gives it enough.
It’ll throw you back, and I will put the paddle shifters on. I mean, this is just so awesome. It has so much power; you get just a little bit of rear-end spin every time you gas, and it’s just so quick, so fast, even in the efficient mode.
This car is still speedy, and honestly, most people will not notice that subtle difference between efficient and sport unless they’ve driven it several times because the fishing is still crazy.
It holds you back, but you can’t tell the difference once the turbos kick in. It just doesn’t rev as high as quickly, and the exhaust note is so exhilarating that it will not get old. Then, just about anytime you give a throttle, you can feel the turbos.
But like I said, as I’ve driven it, I can feel the subtle differences between the efficiency and the sport mode, and I will put it back in the sport mode.
